Wow, sounds like it's all planned out this time! Please do me a favour and just say "thanks" to Don for me. Just for everything he's done. The world needs more people like him.

I've been to NZ before, to work on Little Barrier Island. It was great.
New Zealand isn't too far for me just to see a Kakapo, since that's why I went before. It just didn't happen, though, and was a huge disappointment.

I'm glad you got to meet Don. He is, without a doubt, the nicest man I know. This time I'll be with him, so I know it will work out.

Reb, if you get the chance then don't miss it. Meeting Don was a huge - a *HUGE* - honour. And meeting Sirocco even more so :)

Make the most of the trip. NZ needs a minimum of two months to appreciate, so don't just jet in for the big flightless parrot!

I love it! I've been invited to see Sirocco if he is on display again this year. Don Merton is a very good friend of mine, and I've been working to help the kakapo for years, but I've never seen one. I'm in America, so it's a bit far to travel, but I will if at all possible.
